Inclusive Instrumental Tuition: What is it and how do we do it?
A two-part online training that shares tools for instrumental and vocal teachers to better engage pupils with additional needs.
Sessions will be led by experts in the field, mixing practical suggestions with elements of learning theory and space for sharing ideas and reflecting on current practice. Topics will include:
- warm-ups and creative activities that promote inclusion
- communication skills & teaching environment
- improvisation and composition
- how to address challenging behaviour
- how to empower pupils who are neurodiverse and/or have specific learning impairments
- choosing and using resources, including technology
Tutors from the East Midlands will additionally be offered one-to-one mentoring sessions.
