Music All Day Long - musical development for EYFS through play-based activity
Engage EYFS pupils with play-based music activities to boost creativity and support language and social development | EYFS, KS1 and SEND | Sue Nicholls | Workshop sessions 1 and 2
This workshop introduces Early Years practitioners to a diverse range of musical activities rooted in play. From songs and chants to movement games and sound exploration, participants will discover how to engage children using found sounds, sound-makers, and percussion instruments.
Practical ideas will be shared for incorporating toys, puppets, props, ‘Scrunchies’ (large elasticated fabric rings), and Lycra sheets to enhance musical learning. Supporting the holistic delivery of the EYFS Framework, the session will also explore how these activities foster language acquisition and social play.
Attendees will receive a resource handout after the conference.
- This workshop is available to attend in session 1 and 2
